Description
A close relative to Ginger, Cardamom is known as an expensive cooking spice and for being beneficial to the digestive system in a variety of ways. Its distinct scent can also promote a positive mood. Native to Southeast Asia, Cardamom is added to traditional Indian sweets and teas for its cool, minty aroma and flavour. dōTERRA Cardamom essential oil is extracted from Cardamom seeds grown in Guatemala, using our strict CPTG™ testing standards. Through a collaborative and responsible sourcing arrangement, we are able to have a significant impact on the lives of local partners, ensuring that these farming communities enjoy improved livelihoods.
Uses
-
Add to bread, smoothies, meats, and salads to enhance food flavour.
-
Although you can buy ground cardamom at your local grocery store, you will likely be missing some of the flavour of the original seed because the essential oils start to lose flavour soon after the seeds are ground. Dip a toothpick in your bottle of Cardamom oil and swirl the toothpick directly into your recipe; this will give you just the right amount of flavour.
